The West Grand Penthouse is the largest suite in The Kentucky Grand Hotel. In fact, it is the largest hotel suite in the entire state of Kentucky! It offers a staggering 1,600 square feet of space and is located on the hotel’s top floor, offering second-to-none views of Circus Square Park and downtown Bowling Green through 9-foot tall panoramic windows. This suite is ideal for parties, business meetings, honeymoons, romantic getaways, or–let’s be honest–simply showing off for family or friends. Featuring vaulted ceilings, a quaint partial kitchen with party island and bar seating, a large dining table, multiple couches and sitting areas, three flatscreen TVs, a Butler’s pantry (butler sold separately), a marble floor bathroom with walk-in shower and separate jet tub, and lavish furnishings, this suite, along with the hotel’s neighboring East Grand Penthouse Suite, is already being heralded as the crown jewel accommodation in the state.
The suite has a King size bed in a private bedroom, as well as a sofa sleeper in the living room, accommodating four guests.
At an extra cost, The West Grand Penthouse is also ideal for parties and business meetings. We will do everything possible to make your stay most enjoyable. To ensure you will have a very pleasant experience at The Kentucky Grand Hotel & Spa, we have established the following policies. Please take a few minutes to review these policies, and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Suite rates include double occupancy and a breakfast basket. There is a maximum occupancy of four overnight guests in each of our suites. Rates are quoted per night excluding tax (10.25%). Prices may vary from outdated quotes on other websites, and only rates as published on the hotel's website are guaranteed. Only one discount or promotion can be applied at a time. A 50% deposit will be charged to your credit card at the time of making your reservation. The balance will be charged to your card the day before your arrival. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card regardless of how the final payment will be made. We accept MC, Visa, and AmEx credit cards and Gift Certificates. We do not accept out-of-town personal checks.
Check In/Check Out
Check-In is between 3:00 pm and 9:00 p.m. Arrangements for late arrivals should be made in advance with the hotel staff. Please, no calls or late arrivals after 9:00 p.m. out of respect and courtesy of other hotel guests. Early arrivals are discouraged since our staff is busy turning the suites over from the previous night to insure everything is ready for your check-in at 3:00 p.m., and a $50 fee will be assessed on the final bill for urgency and extra housekeeping preparations related to unexpected arrivals. Checkout time is at 11:00 a.m.
Minimum Stays for the Hotel’s Premium Weekends
During certain events and all major holiday weekends, there may be a two night minimum stay required. Major holiday weekends include: Valentine's Day holiday period, Good Friday through Easter Sunday, the July 4th holiday period, Labor Day weekend, after Thanksgiving Weekend, and December 26th through January 2nd.
Making a reservation at a small boutique hotel with only eight suites is not the same as making a reservation at a typical, larger hotel. Due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last minute cancellation gives us little chance of re-booking a suite. For this reason we uphold a strict cancellation policy: Guests are responsible for payment of all nights reserved regardless of their actual arrival or departure date. No-shows are responsible for full payment of their entire reservation. Should you cancel outside of 10 days prior to arrival, your deposit will be refunded, less a $30/suite/night administration/re-booking fee. Cancellations (including changes) made 9 days or less prior to your scheduled arrival forfeit the 50% deposit and if the room is unable to be re-booked, the full reservation value will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of making the reservation. Any and all rescheduled reservations will require the full financial payment by the Guest, and the deposit is not transferrable to another stay. There are no exceptions to this policy including sickness, family emergencies, or weather related issues. Individual guests within a group/full hotel booking are subject to the terms defined for a full hotel rental. If the number of suites drops below six from a rental that originates as a full hotel rental, the group's reservation is still subject to the terms of a whole house booking.
30 DAYS NOTICE of Cancellation is Required for Refund of Deposit for These Circumstances (subject to Cancellation/Rebooking Fees): A group booking of three or more suites. Reservations during the premium weekends listed above. Groups or companies booking four or more suites require a three month notice for cancellation for a full deposit refund (less administrative fees per room). Cancellations before 30 days for any of the scenarios listed above will forfeit their 50% deposit. Cancellations providing less than 30 days notice will be charged the entire cost of the reserved hotel stay.
The Kentucky Grand Hotel & Spa is privately owned and operated. Management reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. We will not be responsible for guest accidents or injury, or for the loss of money, jewelry, or valuables of any kind.
Any damages, stolen items, or broken items occurring during the stay will be the full financial responsibility of the guest, including anyone traveling with the guest. Any special clean-up resulting in damages caused by the guests will be charged to the credit card. Charges may need to be applied after guest departure as deemed necessary by Management. Robe replacement cost is $125, sheets $100, and towel replacement cost is $25. Please report all spills and/or damages to the front desk promptly.
Smoking & Candle Burning
To ensure the safety and comfort of all of our guests, we do not allow smoking, fireworks or incense/candle burning in any of our guest suites. Hotel guests smoking anywhere in the building will be charged a minimum $250 fee and up, to return the facility to a non-smoking status.
Guests, Children and Pets
We cater to the comfort, privacy and security of our registered guests. Guest visitors are only permitted on the property with prior hotel approval. The Kentucky Grand Hotel & Spa is regarded as either a business executive destination or a quiet escape and romantic getaway for most of our guests, and we work hard to foster that environment. Therefore, it is not an appropriate place for children under 12. Persons not staying overnight at the hotel are not permitted in the hotel suites after 10 p.m. We regret that we are not able to accommodate guest pets.
Wedding Night Stays & Other Visitors
If you are you booking a stay for your wedding night, please be advised that our guest suites, common areas and grounds are for our registered guests only. Booking a reservation for a stay does not entitle a bride or groom (or any booking guest), family and friends to use any guest suite or any part of the hotel or grounds for bridal party wedding preparations and photographs without Management’s approval and will incur the appropriate fees. Bridal parties leasing space at the hotel will not be charged a fee for limited photography, but the time and location must first be approved by Management.
Photography & Outside Guests
We commonly receive requests from non-guests to use the hotel for photography shoots. We do not allow outside photographers to take photographs inside the building without prior permission of Management. A $100/hour fee for use of the hotel will be charged and payable at the end of the session. To insure privacy, photographs of our guests are not permitted without their prior permission.
The hotel recommends that you call to make your massage appointments with as much advance notice as possible. Appointments must be cancelled 48 hours in advance to avoid full charge.
